"David's ability to read the needs of each dog and handler and provide individualized instruction based on those needs is unparalleled. He does not provide a "cookbook" approach to each lesson but rather performs a thorough assessment and then tailors the lesson to meet the needs of the individual. David has provided me with both training and handling instruction that has allowed me to progress and grow in trialing my border collies. I have been especially appreciative of his support and encouragement in our lessons and at trials. He is a first class handler and trainer who I would recommend to anyone without reservation" - Sherry Farster |

"I have trained with many trainers in herding. Never have I been made to feel as at ease and appreciated as by David Henry. He doesn't talk "down" to your level. He brings you up to his by explaining everything clearly and thoroughly. He makes you do the work yourself and gives kind and knowledgeable criticism and observation. He doesn't jump in and show you what your dog is capable of doing, he works closely with you and shows you what your dog AND you are capable of doing as a team.” - Anet Haithcox Anet and Jax placed 14th at the 2006

“I am very impressed with David's professionalism and his passion for working with dogs. He has a wonderful talent of being able to focus in on what needs to be done and in reading the dogs, as well as the handler. I have been very pleased with what how much we were able to accomplish in just one weekend, especially taking into consideration that David had never worked with myself or the dogs previously.” – Ron Madison |

"David is the best clinician. He can explain himself very clearly to a very novice handler [me] or to the more experienced handler as well... in other words he can adjust for either one and I really liked that. I have two dogs that I'm trying to get trained and really benefited from David's teaching. As far as I'm concerned, David is the best and I know if we lived closer I could/would be a much more knowledgeable handler." - Jack Kieffer |

“Although I've known David for several years, I recently had my first lesson with him and was very impressed. I thoroughly enjoyed my lesson, and I hope to have more lessons with him. Maybe he was a very good teacher for me, or maybe he quickly adapted his teaching style to his student. He seemed to instinctively know my learning style, and throughout the entire lesson, I felt that I was making progress. David explains things well, he's patient, and he draws on years of successful handling and training to help the student and the dog learn. At the end of the lesson, David reviewed what we had done and what I needed to do when I was on my own again. I heartily recommend David as an instructor. (My dog liked him, too!)” – Joan Stout Knight |

“David and Christine have worked with several of our dogs and custom trained Tucker for us. Tucker was only a year-old, but showed great herding ability which David recognized right away. Buying a young dog or puppy is always a “roll of the dice,” and we decided to roll. We bought the dog and left him with David and Christine to train. Tucker had come from a farmer that had not done anything with him – he didn’t even know his name and had not been socialized. Christine did all the basics and she and David worked together on his herding training. Within two months he went from a ball of fur to a dog that had a purpose. Today, he is a beautiful prick-eared, black and white rough-coated Border Collie, who has a wonderful disposition and learns new things after you show him one time. He is a gem and had it not been for David’s intuition, we would have missed out on a great dog.” - Albert Myers & Catherine O’Brien |

“Knowing little about training herding dogs, I attended a David Henry Clinic. Wow, by the end of the clinic I had a good understanding of the theory and practice required to get my dog started in herding. David is not only a good trainer, he is a good teacher, and I look forward to working with him again.” – Charlie Hurt |
